As your definition suggests, the dye goes from a vapor to a solid on the jersey.

How is this process any better than the regular way of cresting a uniform?

I would imagine that it would allow for more complex designs with more colours on the jerseys. Crested jerseys tend to wear out and peel, sublimated jerseys don't because it's a dye. It's permanentely bonded onto the fabric.

No they aren't. Aren't hockey on basketball jerseys made with tackletwill? They are pieces that are sewn on.

Hockey jerseys are not made via sublimation.

Sublimation is done on cycling jerseys.

In case some of you are wonder, Tee shirt style jerseys, sublimated (25+) shirts are around $45 to $60 depending on Material. of course if you order more, it'l be cheaper!!
