This year, the scouting movement is celebrating their 100th anniversary. The Stratford and Woodstock Rotary Clubs are assisting their efforts by offering a Wild Dragon Weekend on May 26 and 27 at Pittock Conservation Area (just outside Woodstock).
We will be teaching about 150 youngsters how to dragon boat. Each team will have 3 hours in the boat on Saturday and then we will complete it with a regatta on Sunday. Teams will race 2 -250 metre sprints and the crew with the best time will win.
If anyone, who has had connections to the Scouting movement or just wants to help out by doing some volunteer coaching or steering on that weekend (for any part of it), then you are most welcome.
This will be a lot of fun and will introduce the sport to a whole new group of kids from SW Ontario.
