I'm reading this Mayfair stuff in another thread, reading all the griping and sniping and negative threads so I want to start a positive one because I love this sport and I love racing.

What teams out there do it right? Please give me positive posts about sportsmenlike teams, good teams, classy teams, teams that we should emulate and look up to.

In all seriousness, I think the majority of teams are well above reproach. That's why we never talk about them - there's no unique story to be told. Don't get me wrong. I think that's the way it should be (i.e., law-abiding teams who go about their business, training and competing, without stirring up any trouble).

But as far as stand outs go, I have to point out the Mofos. These folks know how to have fun, compete hard, and give back to the community. How many other teams engage in fundraisers like the Mofos, or participate in charitable events outside DB as a team? After all, that's what DB should be about first and foremost - having fun, competing hard, staying in shape, and giving back to the community.

As opposed to the other teams who rob banks and little old ladies to fundraise, and rape, pillage, and murder during regattas?

Ok, fine. I should have said "rule-abiding" teams.

The beasts have the best uniforms, the best looking women, go fast, party hard and are just generally good people. And their coach signs his name when he posts on the forum (which is more than you can say for me)!

The classiest teams (I'm only including teams I've raced against in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal over the years);

#5 - MOFO's - spirit galore, have fun without rubbing people's faces in it.

#4 - Scotia Beach - They just show up and race, never make excuses.

#3 - BMO - same as Scotia Beach

#2 - 3R - total class act, they have the right focus, good sports, follow the rules, pleasure to race against

and #1 - Dragon Beasts - these are the nicest people in dragon boat, they are good paddlers but don't take themselves too seriously, love to party, great sports, don't make excuses, total class act. Any festival is lucky to have these guys.
