London Timing and Finish Line Posting

We had a new timing and finish line posting system in place in London this year, and the people who developed the program are looking for feedback - good or bad. They realize they had a few glitches which they will have worked out for next year, and they are looking for suggestions on how they can improve next year.

The system last year was good, this year even better as results were posted very fast.

Now, if you could only enforce and/or follow your own rules ALL the time and not just when it suits you guys - You won't be pissing off a whole bunch of people and actually grow this otherwise good festival. You may even coax some competitive teams to come back.

Quick results were great. Please address the other issues and, as the poster above stated, competitive teams will return. Joel stated that having wider lanes are clearly possible. Moving lanes out further are also possible.

it would be nice if they had the times of all races during the day rotating like last year instead of only the most recent race times

I thought the scoreboard was great. Some tweaking will improve on it next year even more. Results were being posted before teams could make it back to the pavillion to see them!

As far as enforcing rules....I was racing all day and was not involved with any officiating, however, I do know that being consistent with enforcing the rules is extremely important to the festival organizers. I'd be interested to know what rules people felt were not enforced properly?

I noticed that wristbands were being checked very dilegently in the marshalling area and in fact my own team had a penalty assessed against us. Given my two limited experiences mentioned, it seems that rules were being enforced (even if not in my teams favor).

Perhaps you should include a new rule against wash riding. Since there are virtual admissions that superior coxing resulted in superior finishes. Yes, that was not a rule, however, this is a rule in several well recognized festivals.

Relax. It is only London.

I had no issues with the timing.

Making the course a little more square, instead of parallelogram shaped, would be nice.
