I don't know if they are supposed to be doing a D stroke, but when you do a "D" stroke isn't your recovery supposed to be horizontal?

Hydroblades weren't the only ones with a D stroke. A team wearing white had similar motion but not as high on the horizontal part.

It was a tad weird how on their return their outside arm is actually higher than the inside arm at a point.

I heard that they are being coached by someone from the philly team, he moved down to Florida from Philadelphia. Is this the philly stroke?

Is their coach a kayaker?
I've never seen that kind of stroke used up here in Canada.

Philly used to do the D recovery years ago, so an old Philly paddler could be teaching that recovery.

HydroBLADES Stroke

We are coached by Clarence who is a member of the Philadelphia team (Current Champions of the World)
We have been together only 10 months but some of us have been on another local team several years.
Our stroke is a modification of the Philadelphia stroke.

hydroblades bring their top hand well into the boat and swinging their bottom arm across almost parallel with the water... kind of inefficient if you ask me...

HB stroke is very unconventional, the recovery is slow and definitely not a natural movement... im surprised that they were able to pull it off at disney... hmmm?

Our stroke is a modification of the Philadelphia stroke.
Why would you modify their stroke? Don't you know they are the dominant team in the US?
