Maybe they just can't plain afford to go....
Did any of you think about it..It's expensive to fly or drive from BC to the east coast...

If Dragon Boat Canada had more races in the West how many big dogs would come out west ???

I thought Beasts and FCRCC were sending a "B" team?

Question from below the border

How does DBC choose a National team for the Worlds? In the U.S., the team that wins the U.S. Nationals is the national team, and then that team can hold open tryouts to improve its crew if it wants. Same in Canada?

Count FCRCC in for Montreal and Prague.

I have heard from reliable sources that FCRCC, Mayfair and the Beasts will not be attending Nationals and that most GTA teams have confirmed they will not be attending either and I think Chiros are pulling out too.

It looks like last years race might be the last Nationals for a while.

FCRCC is definately sending a team to Montreal ,they would never miss out .

From what I have seen it looks like they have almost 3 crews on the water training together now .I'm pretty sure they will show up with a very good team

I predict FCRCC to win since their apparently the only ones showing up!

Very narrow minded

November 4 2008, 2:16 PM

So FCRCC is the ONLY team showing up?

Oh, the only team among the three that count...in your opinion.

Other teams will be there, even if FCRCC, Mayfair and the Beasts don't show up.

Apparently hardly any teams from Canada were going the Worlds in Malaysia according to the forum last year. Also according to the forum, some teams were supposed to go down the drain and fold this year and that did not happen.

Its almost like we have to take whats said on the forum with a grain of salt and not believe every word. But it IS fun to speculate. Maybe the Mofos will win the Nationals next year. I pick them because they like to be in the limelight and they are a fun crew to be around!

ROFL! MOFO's had like 10 new paddlers last year. They have NO chance at winning Nationals. They came last in A consolation final at GWN with like 2:09. There is no way. However this does open the door for other teams!

Nope, no other teams are going (see above). Just the Mofos. They win - and then they party - gotta love them!
