Excerpts:

"A month after announcing Peterborough unanimously won the selection process for the 2010 International Participatory Breast Cancer Dragon Boat Festival, local Survivors Abreast members Carol Mutton, Meredith Cosburn and Darlene Prager outlined the event, hinted at the budget and pleaded for help in some large roles at the organizations first information session yesterday at the Holiday Inn.

The event hailed as a celebration of life will attract about 60 teams -- more than 2,000 paddlers...

The committee has sent out invitations to about 150 teams, she added, and so far 21 teams, including two from New Zealand and three from England have indicated they plan on coming.

The weeklong event is scheduled to begin June 6, 2010 with opening ceremonies and a gala on June 11 and races June 12 and 13."
