Dragon Boat Canada has sanctioned our event as a CCWC Qaulifying event for 2009. We are looking forward to a great event on August 8th and hope to draw a competitive field of teams for the day. More details will be on the website once it is updated shortly.

Agreed, please tell me this is a joke. The organizers couldn't even measure 500m last year. What an effing joke. Terrible terrible location, terrible organizer that can't measure 500m with a gps an all around waste of money last year. You should be giving people there money back from last year given the bull **** 450m course length!

Relax, qualifier != sport race. It just means if you want, it can count as a roster qualifier for the purpose of competing at club crews.

I'm confused. So what race do they hand out the spots for CCWC?

From the DBC 2010 CCWC Protocol
"4.1 A Club Racer shall participate in at least two Qualifying Regattas before such Racer is eligible to participate in a Race-Off Regatta. Racing in two Racing Classes within one Qualifying Regatta constitutes the completion of only one of the two Qualifying Regatta requirements."

We are offering an opportunity for teams to compete and meet the requirements to compete in Montreal. Since our event is just a couple of weeks ahead of Montreal we hope that we can bring some great teams to Woodstock.
Course length will not be an issue. We will get it right.

We have had great feedback for 11 years on our organization, marshalling and venue. The change in the course layout last year ensured equal lane depth with no bias.
