I thought there was supposed to be a 1000 meter premier mixed race ? I'm hearing now its been dropped apparantly because some countries don't want to compete in a 1000 meter ,is this true ? Our US coach apparantly doesn't support this event .

Anybody have any info ?

The 1000 meter mix has never been run at worlds, it was a mistake on the initial announcement. For teams like the US that combine their men and women for the mixed doing two 1000 meter events on the same day would be pretty taxing and is a good reason to not support it. Teams that who have stand alone mixed teams would be in favor.

Sounds like an b/s excuse .So we think we can't win or place so we don't support it ,that lame IMO .

We have very good teams and we would do fine ,you obviously don't have faith in us .

This decision you speak of was made many years ago as I don't believe they even had 1000m for the mixed going back to the beginning of time when the caveman paddled his bolder down the course with his favorite carbon fiber club.

They must have known you would be coming along in the future in order to specifically avoid doing 1000m mixed in anticipation of your arrival. Clearly this was done just to piss you off and is a direct slight on your abilities and not a typo on the initial program as was previously stated.

I suggest a full out rant, and perhaps a letter campaign to everyone including those not related to the event in any way. Girl Guides, The spelling bee people, Rugby USA etc.
