It's at least a dragonboat and an OC6 escorting the torch. Former Olympians Kamini Jain and Hugh Fisher will be there.

And no, a dragonboat also carried the torch in Beijing

Torch in the dragonboat today

February 12 2010, 9:14 AM

Here's a link to an online webcam feed following the torch today - you might have to install Microsoft Silverlight to view it.

I was told that it would be in the boat around 12pm-1pm. I think that's pacific time. Anyone confirm the timing?

Also, if you are at home & able to get CTV Vancouver (satelitte TV), they are following the torch all day long.

Earlier this week the Today show had a minute intro to Vancouver and the second shot was two dragon boats paddling. Not sure it was different teams or 1 team in two boats. regardless, it was cool to see even if it was for a second.

I wonder who that was.

It sure wasn't FCRCC Premier anything. Just currious.

"It sure wasn't FCRCC Premier anything"

It was a bunch of hand picked paddlers from many years of FCRCC ,old to new .Some appeared to have not paddled for sometime judging by dropping of the top hands and timing

It wasn't just False Creek. The people in the torch boats were chosen on the basis of their contribution to the sport of paddling in Vancouver and included some non-paddlers. You might say that most of the people had some sort of FCRCC connection but that's probably unavoidable since the club has been around for 25 years.
