Oakville has never been a high performance regatta. It's not its niche.

A few years back Oakville had a good A final with the Saints, Mayfair and a few others. Looked it up before and if memory serves correct there were 3 or 4 sub 2 minute teams.
Very frustrating this year. We were in the A final and were kept out on the water waiting for close to a half hour because the computer system "crashed". I think this also happened to them at the Hamilton event. Not as frustrating as it was for the A consolation teams whose times were not recorded. It was decided 30 minutes after their race that it would be re run. A number of paddlers had left by then. Hello!
Also they started packing up before the last race. Very tacky!
Our team got a medal but after all the crap probably won't be back next year. Hopefully the organizers will learn the meaning of a back up system.

It's run by Lively. What do you expect?
Well organized

The event was not typical of Lively. Upon investigating, found out systems overheated due to unusual and unpredicated temperature for time of year. Cooling systems could not remedy.
Races I've participated in under Lively's direction have usually been on time and very well run. I don't mind seeing a site being cleaned up when equipment is no longer needed. It creates a safer path and easier visibility of personal items left behind, for those teams who want to leave early.
Volunteers of any hosting organization, such as the Rotary or Lions Clubs, are appreciated and expect to retire their duties as early and efficiently as possible at the end of an event.

Dragonboat community calls BS. I was in the Hamilton final and the same scrap happened. I never selected a Lively event when I was manager and I never will. Just a bunch of idiots.

CBS3's comments sounds like Jackie coming back out of the woodwork to try and rationalize Lively's incompetence.

Very true, since CBS3 just posted a new thread to advertise for the Christie Lake event run by Lively!

They had the same excuse in hamilton as to their system crashing...and they had a month to fix it. Do you really think Lively will fix anything for next year???
I doubt it, and it will hard pressed for me to attend any of their events in the future!!

I'd have to agree. This was ridiculous. No wonder top teams don't go.
