DB Paddle suggestions?March 13 2012 at 1:50 AM | Anonymous |
| Been paddling for a few years and given the poor availability of paddles in my size (51") I've decided it's time to buy one of my own.
I'm looking for a sturdy carbon fibre/composite paddle that has good control but feather-light. Any suggestions?
Right now I'm looking at ZRE, Burnwater, Merlin, and the Grey Owl Jet.
Any advice and personal experience would be helpful. Also if anyone knows the contact info of distributors for any of the companies above, it'd be appreciated. |

I love my Trivium! It's great because the length is adjustable and it is still really light but sturdy. |

for wieght it seems the ZRE and Merlin paddles fit that bill.
I have found the ZRE to be whippy and soft...good if you have issues with your shoulders....Merlin's are very nice, but pricey... look at Apex to fit the strength and durability concerns.
GWN sells some models, or check the web. |

ZRE - they will sell you one directly through zre.com
Merlin - through Double Fifth or GWN
Grey Owl - through Double Fifth, GWN or Pan Am
Chinook through Chinook
Phenom or Gladiator through Pan Am
Typhoon through Typhoon
Not sure who is selling Braca or Trivium in North America. | |
