Last year's race was a qualifier for the Nationals. Seriously doubt that the field will be as strong this year.

Jetstart seems to be there every year. Their race to lose. |

Its OMG - Oh My God Ponies to take it all this year. They've been training hard and have some new stronger paddlers while losing some weaker ones. |

A FINAL
1. NDRC
2. JETSTART
3. MOFOS
4. MOJOS
5. THE BLADES
6. BMO
Interesting to note that the MOFOS are now part of SPC (ex. NDC) and are being coached by Blake Hara. Maybe they will actually be competetive this year instead of the buffoonery they usually get up to. |

This is NDRC New Dragons not NDRC Premier. I think the New Dragons will have a tough time with this field. 3rd Place is the best they can hope for. |

They are just new kids.
The University team is NDRC New College, their premier team is NDRC Premier. |

| Re: Predictions Milton 2012 | May 25 2012, 6:45 PM |
New College is no NDRC Premier but they are still near the top of this field. Based on having 4 teams and a strong showing last year I will go out on a limb and say the Ryerson A boat will be fast.
A Final
(1) Jetstart
(2) NDRC New College
(3) Ryerson
(4) Blades
(5) Mojos
(6) MOFOS |

Sooo....Waterloo warriors came out of nowhere...3rd place overall and upset new dragons in the 2km (their B team also came top 10) jet start of course matched everyones predictions, 9:03 2km? With no one even close, I think mojo did 9:21 for second? Not a hugely competitive field but top teams were close by fractions of seconds. Any teams surprise you guys today? Also 450 meter course due to excessive weeds. Horrible. |

Waterloo didn't come out of no where. Last year they did pretty well at Milton. |

Is Blake losing his touch? I thought whatever team he touches turns into gold.

MOFOs might be a different story. I am sure Blake will have to break a few egos before he can actually teach them how to paddle. |

Wasn't the course only 450m? Which would sort of make the 2000m an 1800m race no?
It would be nice if their results page actually reflected that, instead of skewing all the results.

| Re: Predictions Milton 2012 | May 28 2012, 1:23 PM |
The course was 450m but I'm not sure how the results were skewed since the finish order would have been pretty much the same regardless of the missing 50m. |

Milton final was a battle of the "old and experienced" vs "young and strong". In the end old and experienced won though the young and strong were close 2nd and 3rd. University teams are definitely getting stronger as the popularity of the sport grows. |

ALL the teams in A and B handily broke the 2:00 mark. It's a new golden era of dragonboating! |

| Re: Predictions Milton 2012 | May 28 2012, 2:01 PM |
Keep in mind that the course was shortened to 450m instead of 500m due to poor course conditions....thus the high number of sub 2 min times. |

Difference in 2000m and 1800m can no doubt change a lot of placements. Much like 450m vs 500m. |
