Sorry about the email; it has changed since my post in 2001, and as I was just browsing tonight found your post of June 2002.
Interesting that your Dodd family lived in Perth County, as this is where some of the Forbes famliies settled, before Richard moved to Keppel township by 1871. Richard Forbes was killed by his brother-in-law according to the Owen Sound newspaper, July 1873. I have nothing further on this event. Another Forbes family, Richard Forbes married to Rebecca Kingston and family also lived in the Listowel area, in the late 1880's. E-mail heburrow@cogeco.ca
