I know of a local historian who has done a full research of the Davis family back to BENJAMIN DAVIS, who was the first of the line to come to Canada. He is of Davis descent as am I. My grandmother, Ida Maria Davis was from the Davis farm on Glenelg Conc 2. The original family settlement was on The Glen road just south of hwy 4, east of Durham. The McArthurs of Glenelg are relatives as well, Davis being part of their clan. Ida married Charles Henry Moffat, having a son, my father Charles Davis Moffat. He passed away last month, leaving an historical void. He was assisting with the writing of another local history book, the 3rd he was a reference for.
