I have a John Campbell, born in 1858 in Harris, Isle of Skye...He moved with his family to Grey County in approx 1860 or 1861. I have no information about John's Marriages and children, I would really like to get that.
My John Campbell had parents of Finlay Campbell and Euphemia McLeod. These were my 3x Great grandparents.
Finlay and Euphemia had 5 or 6 kids...
1) Captain Neil Campbell (1853 in Scotland -D: 1918), a prominent Ship Captain in Owen Sound and who went to Sault St. Marie in Michegan all the time, and in fact I think his wife may have been from that area.
2) Marion Sarah (B: 1856 in Scotland)
3) John (B: 1858 in Scotland, died before 1900)
4) Catherine (B in Scotland: 1860)
5) Alexander (B in Ontario: 1867)
6) And possibly an Emma (birth unknown)
If your John and My John are the same, we would have a lot of information to share. Neil Campbell is buried in Greenwood Cemetary in Owen Sound, and his parents Finlay and Euphemia are buried in McLeans Cemetary just outside Bognor and Walters Falls.
