Looking for my Great, Great Grandfather Bartholomew O'Laughlin. He and his family had a farm in Proton Twp (on the corner of Highway 89 & Proton SR7). His name shows up in Dundalk's registry in 1861 and 1865. In 1865, it was spelled without the O', but his decendents all use the O'Laughlin name. Family lore said he came from Ireland (County Clare), was married twice, once to a Johanna Boland, and also a Katherine ?. We also think he was killed in an accident, and buried in a cemetary in Mt Forest on a street called Lovers Lane. His son and brother are buried in St Patricks Catholic Churchyard in Proton Twp. Much of the latter above information comes from a now deceased elderly relative whose memory was fading fast. Thanks for reading this. Proud to have Canadian heritage.
