McClary- Boyle

by

I'm desperately looking for my grandmother's parents.
My ggrfather's name was Jas. McClary who married an Ellen Boyle around
1879. I have reason to believe her mother was related to the Boyles
from Holland twnsp.Grey county ON. Her mother died when she was quite
young. Her father remarried & according to my mother his new wife didn't
want her. The couple that raised grandma were named Narhstedts.
William Narhrstedt married Charlotte Boyle In Chatsworth On.
about 1878. Charlotte was bn. in Holland twnsp about 1853. I was able to find the family listed on the census. My grandmther's name was Kathleen Victoria McClary. She was bn. in Owen Sound 1886. Anyone who may have heard stories handed down or is a distant relative please e-mail me.
I need to finish that part of my ancestry before I'm too Old.

Looking for biological parents of Sarah Hunt born 21Dec 1864 at Flesherton, Ontario. In 1871, Sarah Hunt moved to Innisfil, Ont. with a family. She shows up on the 1871 Simcoe Innisfil census as staying with the Robert Wilkinson family. This could be an aunt.Sarah appears to be related to the Joseph Hunt family, early settlers at Innisfil. In 1881 she shows up in Dufferin/Marquette, Manitoba census with John and Joseph Benson, formerly of Artemisia/Grey Co.We have much information on her later years and marriage in Manitoba but the unknown history is from birth to age 17yrs.Any help would be appreciated.

Lewis Family

by

I am looking for any information on the Thomas Lewis (my 2nd GGrandfather)family of Grey County. Thomas Lewis was born about 1860 in Kimberley and died in 1920. he is buried in Flesherton Cemetery. His first wife Eliza Wickens died in 1890 and is buried with him in Flesherton. They had 6 children, Alma, Charles,Emma Louise, Hattee May, Mary Agnes, and Lillian Mae. These children born between 1879-1890. Hatte Mae and Mary Agnes died as infants, both before their first birthday. Since I cannot see their names on the Headstone of Thomas and Eliza, I would like to know where they are buried. I believe that Charles moved west as he is found eventually in Seattle. My Ggrandmother Alma and Lillian ended up in Manitoba. Emma married a Kirby and ended up in Illinois.

Thomas married a Mary Smith, after the death of Eliza and had 5 more children. Ivan, Percy Kenneth, Alexander Viola, Eldon T, and Myrtle Jean. I have almost no information on these children except that some went by their middle names and that Eldon died at age 3 and is buried with his father in Flesherton.

What I need to proceed with this family is:

When did Mary Smith die and where is she buried?
What happened to the other children of the Lewis Smith union?
Who was Thomas Lewis's father and Mother?
Where were they from? Are they buried in Grey County?

Any clues to the Lewis family would be greatly appreciated as I have to believe that someone out there knows something about the family.

Thanks

Gord

Munshaw Thomas, Peter and Mary Alida/McCallum

by

I am trying to track down the date of birth for Peter Myers and his sister Mary Alida.Parents are Thomas Munshaw and Mary Saunders. Mary went on to marry Simon McCallum. Is there a family bible in existence? If so, I can use it as verification. If it does exist, a descendant of William, Margaret,Charles, Alexander, Bessie, or any other of the children from Simon and MAry may have it. This bible may have the marriage of Thomas and Mary in it as well. No bible exists for the Munshaw side.
Or if anyone has hardcopies of this information, I would like copies.

Looking for info for a friend

by

My friend, Noreen, is looking for her Grandmother. Her history search has found her that Jacob Peterson (she thinks he may be her Great-Grandfather), lived in Howick and purchased lot 19 concession 14 Howick township in 1875. He sold the east half to Samuel George Selby in 1878, who in turn sold it back in 1879. In 1881 he again sold the 100 acres, this time to Joseph Mahoud. The 1879 atlas for Huron County shoes Jacob Peterson on this lot on the map of Howick Twp.The only other thing she found out was that Jacob Peterson was on the cemetary records for Harris Baptist Cemetary as ,"Jacob Peterson died January 13th, 1881. Age 80 years native of Nova Scotia.
That is all she could find. That is why I am doing this.So...
If anyone out there can help her, she is looking for ANY information on OPHA JANE PETERSON.She thinks Jacob was Opha's father, but the lack of info is getting her down. So, if anyone out there knows ANYTHING about Opha Jane Peterson, get back to me with it. I am doing this as a favor to a friend.
Thanks in advance to those who respond.
Sincerest hopes, Jo Anthony

I may have found William's parents in Bentinck Twp: Robert Caldwell d. 1876 and Mary Moore Caldwell d. 1906. They emigrated from Ireland in the 1840s. Mary's sister, Margaret, was married to Daniel McFadden. Their son, Thomas McFadden, was executor of Mary Caldwell's will, along with Thomas B. Caldwell, Mary's son. Hockridges in Grey County

by

I haven't been checking for Hockridge geneology for quite some time so have not noticed your message until now. My family came from Cedarville in Grey county and I have some information on our branch of the family. Has somebody responded to your post or are you still looking for information?

McClelland - James Hugh and Agnes Leticia

by

Looking for descendants of James Hugh McClelland and Agnes Leticia McClelland, the adopted children of Joseph and Elizabeth McClelland, Owen Sound, Ontario. James was born in 1890 and married Alice Bessie Wright, in 1914 in Owen Sound, ON. They had at least one son James, born about 1916.It appears they spent their life in Owen Sound.
Agnes was born in 1892 and may have married a Harold Christie. I am a descendant of John McClelland, father of Joseph McClelland.

Swinton Park Cemetery, Proton Township

by

I know that my Great Grandmother and Great Granfather are buried together (from another researcher) in that cemetery. Is there any way of getting a copy of the buriel documentation, who owned it, who bought it, next of kin etc?
Names listed are Neil McFayden and Janet Brown, she died in 1897

Any help would be greatly appreciated

McFayden, MacFayden, Moody, Watkins early 1900's

by

I am trying to locate any information on any of these names. Neil McFayden married Ethel Moody in Priceville in 1903, most other information is very sketchy. As far as I know, Neil was born in 1875 and Ethel Moody in 1884.

McFadyen Moody Families

by

I have some information on this family. My grandfather was George Moody. He was Ethel Moody's brother. Their parents were William Moody and Mary Jane Watkins. Their grandparents were James and Frances Moody. Their great great grandparents were Robert and Maria Clarke. They came to Ontario between 1820 and 1830. Please contact me if you still are looking for more info.
