I'm intending to increase the volume of my pond from 1500 to 2500 gallons. I have 14 Koi which vary from 9" to 24" in size.
Whilst I am carrying out the work I am planning to transfer the Koi to a paddling pool which is 8 feet x 4 feet x 2 feet deep (approx. 400 gallons)which will be filtered.
I have a number of questions:-
1. Will the temporary home be large enough and if so what would be the maximum recommended time I could keep them there.
2. Should I feed them during this period.
3. How long after filling the main pond should I wait before putting the Koi back and what measures can I take to ensure the water quality is suitable.
4. Are there any other things I should take into account.
