I would only use salt as a last resort, and NOT in the pond but as a salt bath. I have had fish completely covered in fungi, on their last legs, a trip to the vet resulted in me being told 'A sick fish is a dead fish', very useful! A salt bath has always cured them.
I wouldn't worry about the odd bit of fungi, they recover. Only get concerned when it starts to take over.
