Brief answers are as follows:-
1. Sequence series pumps are very efficient.
2. You can have low maintenance & expensive or high maintenance & cheap. You cannot have both where filters are concerned.
3. Heating in highly recommended by most keepers. If you can afford to heat, do so.
4. Yes. Draw from bottom, middle & top if you can but bottom and top at least.
5. Chagoi or wild carp are about as hardy as Koi get.
6. I wouldn't go for a fishmate. A second hand Nexus would be better.
