This would seem to be a US pump, lots of references to $ and 115V in a google search for it, so I guess you are in the US. If the pump looses prime whilst running you either have a leak in the inlet plumbing or conditions that allow the pump to suck air 'from' the pond. I would suggest trying to fix that first, if that doesnt work some of the sequence pumps are apparently self priming but I dont know that for certain.
If the pump looses prime when it is not running have you installed a check valve in the inlet?
