Hi, a 6 x 5 foot pond at 3 feet deep would give you around 550 gallons, this would be adequate to take a few smaller koi with a good filtration system. I wouldn't use a preformed pond and would suggest going to more than 3 ft if possible, unless you are planning to heat the pond. Also, i would steer clear of garden centres for advice on koi ponds. Try and find a good koi outlet near your area as they will be able to give you much better information on regarding koi. Hope this helps
