i would not recomend turning your pond over more than once every 2 hours as the filter media will not be able to cope with the flow a filter needs to keep the water in in for as long as possible to remove the ammonia and nitrite from the water and once every hour is to much for the filter to cope with and you will always have higher nitrite readings if you do this and the ideal nitrite reading that all koi keepers should know is 0 (zero)
