He told me they appeared fine until 48 hrs before they died ... and then appeared to be gasping, with no other outward signs. They died over a period of approx 10 days, at a rate of about 2 a day.
His pond has 2 waterfalls, 4 filter outlets, a fountain and a large airstone, so I don't think lack of aeration was the problem! As previously mentioned, ammonia and nitrite 0.
All I could think of was gill fluke, but wouldn't this have also affected the goldfish and sturgeon?
