you are right in saying that for a 2000gal pond you will need a 1000gph pump dont try to pump it any faster as it dont work like that as your filter will not remove the ammonia and nitrite if you pump it to quickly believe me ive tried pumping though my filters at all different speeds and when i turned my pond over once every hour i had nitrie readings when i slowed it down and still fed the same amount of food the nitrie readings dropped dont listen to anyone who says turning you pond over six times an hour will make the fish think they are in a pond 6 times bigger all that will happen is your nitrite readings will rise
