I tried this and it worked
Put the food in the same spot each feeding and put your hand in the water, keep it still and they will come up for the food and get used to your hand being in the water
When i feed now i tap on the water and they come up for food they take it out of my hand and suck at my fingers and let you touch them. Also get a Chagoi they are so tame and good fun, they calm your fish and tame them to hand feed.
Movements have to be slow as they will dart away otherwise until they get used to you.You should be able to do it within 2 weeks
