Water Changes in Winter

by

Pending commissioning of my new 3,500 gallon pond when the weather starts to warm-up, I have 3 koi and 4 goldfish living in my old 150 gallon pond.

The water is getting pretty murky as the pump and external filter has been off with the heavy frosts we have had recently. I really want to clean everything up and start the filter off again. I was wondering if doing this now (this weekend) would be detrimental to the fish as they are still in a pretty dopey state. I haven't started feeding again either.

I don't want to do more harm than good but I am worried about the water quality.

Am I best to wait a while or go ahead with a partial water change and restart the filter?

I would appreciate your views
