For a pump of 2400 L/ph i would have thought 2" pipework will be fine for the outlet on a vortex. Unless you mean G/ph but even then i would imagine it would be ok. On the inlet to the filter i would use 4" pipework if possible as the water will flow slower then to settle out solids. Also, why dont you gravity feed to the multibay aswell and then pump feed from that to the pond, this will mean you can have a venturi return. And give the opportunity to add another filter after the pump at a later date (Cartridge Filter of Fluid bed etc). Good Luck
