blanket weed tends to grow more profusely when your nitrate levels are high .this could be caused by a few different reason ,mainly over stocking,over feeding ,do tests and sort this problem out and u will have less,Another thing is buy a pack of bacteria powder ,pour this into your filters and pond to boost it .
If you do not have a uv light on your pond put one in it also helps.Lastly we have a chemial here in S.A called pond clear ,if u can buy it dose your pond with it ,i have found that in a few days it clears the blanket weed ,i normally leave it for about a week to 10 days then dose again .you will find your fish are not to happy for about a day or so ,so cover your pond with a net as they tend to jump quite a bit.
