I built a new pond (3000gal) Installed an AquaBead filter system. Due to a lot of projects I let the filter system run for about 6-7 months and did backwash only 2-3 times during that period. 3 weeks ago I transferred my koi from the old pond to the new. Also replanted some water lilles from the old pond, using MicrobeLift planting medium in lined baskets. Immediately after introducing the fish and plants, the next day I had to start doing backwashes of the bead filter. My water flow slows by a good 3/4ths every 6 hours or so, and there is nothing visible that could be clogging the filter. Any suggestions as to the cause?
