Alan's sugestion is about the best ,by adding one or two large gold fish it seems to settle a pond quicker,and adds colour until you add more Koi .I did this when starting my pond .Another thing I did , was to add bio starter to my pond as well to my filters ,this speeds up the process as well.The last thing you can try is add salt to your pond ,the salt seems to calm the fish down ,as they are normally stressed out after being moved to a new pond (as I have read all Koi carry some deasese's
which come out when they are stressed ,lowering their immune system .(Same in humans when your immune system is run down it is eaiser to catch a cold)
