New pond

by

Hi Tony,

I was in the same position as yourself this time last year and had only just started to build my first proper koi pond, having spent the previous 6 months planing the project the first thing that hit me was the number of people who were on there second or thurd build so my first objective was to get the pond right from the get go thus saving money in the long run, so when you say that you are building on a budget(as I initally intended to do)you may find that you that you dont have what you want(need)and end up spending the money at a later date.
Think long and hard before comiting your self to starting the project and weigh up the pros and cons of the materials and hardware that you intend to install look at as many ponds as you can and try to understand What is being used and why and dont hesetate to ask lots of questions.
Personally I went for a block built oval pond which was rendered and coated with koi coat, for the filter I went for the nexus 200, not cheep but with a small foot print and very easy to clean it was by far the right way to go. There are lots of other factors to consider like soil conditions, waste water disposal, and having the room to get it all in space you have.

Best of luck,

Garry.
I would recomend that you
