koi death

by

hi steve, i also had this problem 6 months after filling my pond and spent £100.00 on bio chips & bacteria you grow( i grew mine in a bucket in the loft )& nite out 2 to reduce nitrite all to no avail, in the end i had no option but to swap 2 buckets of my k1 with 2 buckets of my neighbours established k1 and quickly my nitrite came down steadily to zero, this isn,t a recommended method as there is a risk of bringing your neighbours problems into your pond, in my case i knew his pond and fish were fine and i was lucky, you could try this as a last resort, good luck, danny.
