Decking on top of liner?

I am in the final stages of my first pond, once liner is in place my ideal surround would be decking.

Does anyone know of or have experience in if this would be possible to do. Plan would be to drill and screw multiple pieces of wood along edge then lay decking?

would appreciate any comments
