Have had used the search faciklity and there doesn't seem much on this one. I noticed one of my Koi on the bottom of the pond with what looked like cotton wool stuck to his tail. I separated him immediately from the other fish and have been treating him with Malachite and Formalin using intensive doses as I considered this a serious case. I am hoping that the chemicals will work and kill the bacteria. The fish seems fine, from the picture you can see the blue tinge of the chemical around his back fin - he is now in a separate container with clean pond-water. I was wandering whether anyone could advise whether I need to do anything else, what I am looking for as signs of improvement (will the cotton wook drop off? Will he still have a fin underneath?) Any help would be appreicated. I have 20 Koi in total and none of the others are showing any signs of this.
