Hi, I'm looking for some advice concerning filter media. I have just increased the size of my pond to 3,000 gals and found that my current filters cannot cope and the water has gone dirty. I have now got a 4 chamber filter box with brushes in the first chamber and thats it. My plan is to fit a vortex before it and then put jap matting in the 2nd chamber and K1 in the 4th both of which is has an air pump connected to them. My question is what should I put in the 3rd chamber to help keep the water as best as possible? and is this the right order for the media?
Second question, the filter has to be fitted where my current filter is located therefore how long can I leave my pond without filtration?
As you can tell I'm new to koi keeping and would value any comments, many thanks.
