Hi, i have a kockney koi 5000 and 4000, and converted both to use K1. The easiest way to do it is to convert a bay with a downward flow. By doing that you can set the level in the filter to just below or level with the wier where the water flows into the bay, and the only conversion you have to do is replace the filter grid at the bottom with a finer mesh or perforated sheet. This would be the 3rd bay in your filter, the 2nd and 4th bay could also be converted to K1, but that would mean adapting the overflow between bays 2 and 3, with a sheet of mesh etc, and in bay 4 you would have to attach a mesh cover to the outlet of the filter.
