I am a beginner and would like some advice on the building guidelines for a raised pond.
the dimensions of the pond are :
length 6.5 ft
width 5.5 ft
depth 3.2 ft
I am using red bricks exclusivley which i have obtained from the freecycle website in an attempt to keep costs down.
i have built one 5 ft wall and its upper section will act as an ornamental peice. the pond will have double walls with a 2 inch cavity filled with concrete upto the second or third course.
I have put the concrete footings down leaving half a brick's space on either side.
My question is as it is going to be small pond, do i need to leave a cavity between the walls? If i do, is two inch sufficient?
Thankyou,
Mazaffar.
I live in the Uk, Halifax west yorkshire.
