thanks, Am going to do as suggested.and invested in a OASES Vac 3pump. the thing is .the algae does not look like the normal grass string. but more of a moss ball. .it just floats in the water . below water level. and not attached to sides or bottom. shall let you know how i got on. in the meantime A Happy New Year.and thanks
