As your pond is 2200 gallons then you have a few things to consider :-
a/ What is the best flow rate for your vortex/multibay filter ?
b/ Do you want to turn over your water at the rule of thumb of say 1x to 2x per hour ?
c/ What flow do you want over your waterfall ?
If you look at say a 2x turnover and allow for head/friction loss & extra
allowance for your waterfall then could assume you need a pump rated at
something in the 1500-2000gph range. ( 6750-9000 lph )
I presume the Argonaut pump had quite a high electrical useage compared
with the modest pond volume you have & may have been a bit of overkill.
Oase are well respected pumps as our many others.
For example the Aquamax 8000 is rated at 110W
My pond is 2400 gals & I use an old style Aquamax 5500 at 75W ( no waterfall )
