a/ Get your filter supplier to build it with a 4" inlet so it's compatible.
b/ Yes, you can get solvent weld 4" to 3" reducing bushes.
c/ Evolution Aqua supply rubber couplings that are handy for anywhere where mis-alignment is a problem. They may also do a 4" to 3" reducer which may be usefull.
