I'm sorry to see that Dave and the #71 team couldn't find the speed for Atlanta.
So now its on to 2002.
For what its worth, here's one fans suggestion...
#1 priority - get some good equiptment for Daytona and Dave's last race. That means $$$. How do you get money? By announcing and confirming the plans for next year. Find out what Realtree is interested in commiting to and decide what is going to happen after Daytona. The more settled and confirmed the plans are for after Daytona, then the better chance there is for getting additional sponsorship commitments. And that means better equiptment for Dave and Daytona.

This fan's suggestion is to cut to the chase and announce that Dick Trickle will drive the car on a limited schedule following Daytona. There are several very sensible reasons to put Dick in the car. Obviously, Dick is still more than capable to drive competitively and especially to get a car qualified. And, qualifying will be most important for any team that isn't running the full schedule (this isn't news to #71 fans).
Secondly (if thats a word???) Dave and Dick have been friends for many a year and the two of them have more combined knowledge than ANY team in Nascar.
And finally, Dave and Dick should be able to bring to the table enough sponsorship $$$ to support a part time effort (Schnieder????????????) that would be quite competitive.

Anyhow, that's the hopes of one guy in Ky for a Wisconsin Dream Team in 2002!
