OOC- in response to a request.. and my need to get into the groove, as one would put it.

IC- romulus collapsed on the arm of his brother. As the feather turned once around the clock ... the members of the alliance dwindled even farther.
"I will take my brikar to be healed, as I am no expert in these matters." vAl said to no one in particular. The hulking mass of Draskireis seemed to heave in approval.

"it is just us three now," he said, his words sounding rasp and forced..

vAl strapped the limp romulus to the dragonkin's back and they started off again...
And so they walked out of the Gaia's forest...
vAl knew of a quiet little town only a few days march away.. and it was stunningly quiet on the way there .. surprisingly they did not attract a large amount of attention and were not mugged by thugs at all..

But they came to this lively town.. it was called Elipo, named after the founder. But if one wanted to know more about the town there was an extensive library... one which both vAl and drAsk would be most interested in..

but first...the wounded..

"Sir, i must inquire the whereabouts of the town Elipo's healer.." vAl said to a hooded citizen..

"Ah, well you are in the right place.. This town is the proud town of Elipo! we have an extensive library, and some even think that as well as storybooks for children, one can find storybooks for grown ups like us!"

Drask looked up in the sky and sighed as the proud townperson rambled on...

Emyr joined val and Drask. She tried to help Romulus with her healing spell, but there seemed little that she could do to help. Which worried her.
Lead on.
OOC: sorry, must rush to class now. feel free to control Emyr whenever. will try to contribute when have access to internet.

Flying out of time

OOC--tired... so tired.

IC--Drask sighed, looking up at the empty skies of twilight's falling. Tiny pinpricks of light--stars--failed to mask the emptiness that stretched between them, just as gaps between people could never potentially be bridged. So sad, he thought, that such revelations only come to one when they are unsought and unwanted, unneeded and unprepared for. He was tired. Tired of pain, tired of loneliness, tired of death, tired of isolation. At least he had books and music for solace. While vAldiCi Altair and Emyr Helenas took Romlulus, quietly dying of a cloven heart, to attempt to heal the symptoms of his affliction, the Dragon took to the library, and began to read a book about another universe, another place, another time, another space. One where science bridged the stars in virally corruptible links, and where humans came in a thousand myriad and terrifying forms. And where a mentally afflicted young girl was the key to it all. Drask read this book, sitting in Elipo's library, and fell asleep in his chair--the only one fit for a Dragon in the entirety of the town. And he dreamed. Yes, he dreamed.

He dreamed of flying, of flying so quickly, so heedlessly and headlongly quickly, that he himself began to fall apart. His physical form was relegated to wherever the pieces landed, but his spirit struggled forever to keep up with the wind itself, to outrace the speed of time.... A race never to be won, but that the Dragon-ghost had not yet lost. Yet.

Her words would raise him from the dead, make him live again in memory' --Orson Scott Card

On the up and up

A mile above the earth a falcon glides. The land below is brown. Rock, sand, scrub. The sun bakes the earth, thermal vents billow up, hot and invisible. The falcon glides. She ponders the procession inching forward. Strange, she thinks. Such an odd troupe. Elves and a Man? And a Dragon!? Mortal Enemies, these are. Best not to meddle in strannge affairs, she resolves. But she does not forget.

Romulus's body is sweating. He rolls slowly under the rippling back of the dragon carrying him. An elf maiden sits with him, wiping his forehead with a cloth and caring that he does not fall. Her secret lover, the one they call "Valdici" walks next to them. He carries his staff proudly, his eyes are strong, but he is worried. He has left the safety of the forests, and is uncomfortable with the vulnerability of the plain. But this is the shortest route to Elipo. One more day and they will arrive. Valdici looks to the horizon. It is green. He is anxious for green. Green heals.

IC - Quickly the alliance of the war angels fell apart, the healing process of which will be hindered in progress. Xandim finds himself in Elipo, apprentice to a mystic who appears to be of middle age. However his actually age is undeterminable, for he talks about the ancient times as if it was yesterday. Perhaps for him these centuries past are days in his timeframe. Who knows. "Pay attention, for this is an important thing to remember when trying to transform. I have taught 8 other disciples, but you are the most difficult. This transformation can only occur in complete calmness. Its tranquility brings out true speed of your breed of morph."
"Yes master" is all he could mumbled, as his thoughts had been transfixed elsewhere, where he felt a disturbance, call it a gut instinct. He couldnt help but think that if he were psychic he would be able to fi...
