I am from Inverness. There are some places I know of that are haunted.
A restaraunt I worked at about 3 or 4 years ago that used to be named T.J. Micheals is haunted. I dont know what the name of it is now, but I can let you know the next time I'm out that way. Its going towards Floral City from Inverness, a couple of miles on the left past the Citrus Race Track. The rumor is that the big oak trees out in the parking lot was used to hang people. Specifically black people. The old owners had pictures of two black men hanging from the trees.
Personally I never had any experiences with these people, but I did however with a older white man. They have a private dining section there, which are about 10 individual booths that each are in there own tiny rooms. One night while working this area as a server, I was sweeping in the hall way. There was a long hallway with 5 booths on each side. I had the curtains open on them all, I noticed in the booth on the second private area, there was a man sitting there. I immediatly turned around to check on him because we were closed, and I thought he was a new customer, but he was gone. I only saw him briefly but I saw that he was wearing a hat and a jacket and had his hands folded on the table. I went to tell my co-workers what I saw, and they asked me what he was wearing, and I told them. Almost all of them had seen the exact same thing at one time or another. Also the spirits liked to mess with you in the kitchin after closing by turning off the kitchin lights, moving things, and even locking people in the walk in fridge and freezers for short amounts of time.
The Super Shell gas station off hwy 44 and the corner of Croft hwy also has a spirit in it. He likes to throw the hordogs off the burners in the middle of the night. I worked third shift there, and he did that all the time. Two of my co workers were in the office where the video monitor was, and saw a man in the camera, but when one of them went to go check on him she didnt see him, but the other worker was watching on te monitor still and said he was right next to her.
I know of some other places as well but they are residences, so they wouldnt be possible for you to check out.
