Has anyone been to the cemetary on Rouse Road? I suggest you give it a try. Me and my friend went there one night. It was truly one of the most scary experiences of my life. We were thier for about five minutes and froze when we saw a shadowy figure about 20 feet from us. We stood there looking at it for about five seconds because we were'nt sure what we were looking at. It had roughly the figure of a person but it was dark and could have just been the shadow of a tree. Then I swear it took a step at us. I know my friend saw it too because we just looked at each other and ran. I asked my friend what he saw when we got back to the car and he said the exact same thing. Does anybody have any experiences there or information about it. I looked on the net but could'nt find anything. I don't know if that was just our overactive imagination, but I do know that is a truly creepy place with a lot of negative energy there.

It's been a long ass time since you posted that question but I hope you come back to the site and read this.... Benjamin Miles is what people call him and he's supposedly buried somewhere near the scary ass oak tree. I know a few ppl who have seen him and he's a scary m'fugger who obviously can't let go of his life here and he seems pissed about that. I'm gonna go back again soon and try to see him again.

I would like to respond to the gentelman that had an experience @ th rr cemetery. On halloween night about 5 yrs. ago, I started to spend the night in that cemetery wth my girlfriend ay the time. We brought sleeping bags, food, and candles. One we were situated, we started walking around reading tombstones by candle light. We approached series of stones very close together, and started reading the names. It was a father named James, his wife and their two boys. We read all of the names to ourself until we got to the mother, and found out she died n the same day as her children. I said something like "aw how sad", and then said her name outloud. At that point the candle we were holding sent a flame up in the air about 6 inches high. My girlfriend lost it and ran out to Rouse Road an just kept running. Luckally one of my friends lives at the end of Rouse and picked her up as he was coming back from the gas station on University/Rouse. Anyway I have gone back there many times alone with no activity. The cemetery is rather old and has most of the families of the originators of east Orange buried there. I have recently been taking with a paranormal research group, and would love to explore the cemetery further.

Benjamin Miles is a groundskeeper that used to work at the cemetary. If you hear an owl skreetches that means that he there and that you should get out of the cemetary. He is extremely violent and can cause you harm. Please be careful if you see him and do not approach him at any cost. He is always by that oak tree when sited but may be able to go through the entire grounds since he was at one time the groundskeeper.

He is a ghost from the 1840's that is usually seen in tan colored work clothes. He was buried in an unmarked grave and is a definate angry ghost. Ghost hunters say that the area around the tree and the tree itself is angry and even malicious. They also say that individuals who are new ghosthunters or that scare easy should not go to this site; it feels profoundly hostile.

You can see pictures that the ghosthunters took during the day time on http://www.hollowhill.com/fl/fl.htm

Hope that helps you out.
