There have been many reports from stagehands and actors who have seen and heard inexplicable things at the Shoestring Theater in Lake Helen. I have directed several shows there, and the place definitely has a strange energy to it (especially when you are by yourself late at night locking up the building). Does this group ever travel to Volusia County? If so, I would love to help arrange a late-night tour of the theater.

After asking around, I received several reports from people who claim that the Shoestring theater used to be a school house for black children back in the 1930's. Many people claim that they've seen the ghost of a little black girl named "Baby", and also the ghost of an elderly black gentleman. The theater has been visited by psychics from Cassadaga, and paranormal investigators who took measurements. I'm still interested in arranging further investigations if anyone is interested.
