I am a born again christian born and raised in southern California. My husband also a born again christian with no Jewish background thinks it would have been wise to go to Rosh Hashana last night. I went last year and do not feel that it is something for me. What is you opinion?
Hi, I'm a born again Christian too. I believe that Rosh Shanah should be observed because it was the day G-d almighty appeared to the Israelites and gave them the 10 commandments. Therefore, if you believe in Christmas and Easter (which share pagan meanings), then I suggest that you search your heart to see if you truly believe in Yeshua HaMessiah Adonai, the fulfillment of the Torah (law). Also, please have an open mind. Just because your family never celebrated it, or other Christians don't, doesn't it make it wrong. I'll be praying for you.
Good question! In Leviticus 23, the L-rd makes it very clear that these are His Holy Days. He does not call them Jewish Holy Days. They are His Special Days and are actually the Calendar of the Ages. In other words, they predict future events.
Y'shua (Jesus) said he came to fulfill the Law, not to destroy it.
He fulfilled the first 3 Holy days of Lev. 23. (Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits) by His Crucifixion, Burial and Resurrection.
The next Holy Day was fulfilled by the Holy Spirit of G-d manifesting Himself through the believers at Pentecost (Weeks) in Jerusalem.
Then we have a period of time for harvest. That's where we are now. Soon the next Holy Day (Trumpets - now called Rosh HaShanah) will be fulfilled when the L-rd Himself will descend from heaven and call His believers out. I Thessalonians 4:13-18).
Soon after that will begin the Tribulation. That will end on the next Holy Day of Yom Kippur (Atonement) with the 2nd Coming of the Lord. He will set up His kingdom on earth and we will all celebrate the last Holy Day of Tabernacles (Sukkot) living on earth with the Messiah ruling for 1000 years.
There are a number of books on this subject and if you are interested I can give you the Scripture references.
You should attend a Messianic synagogue to celebrate Rosh HaShanah and do some study of your own to fully understand the Holy Days. It's exciting and yes, they are for everyone! The Body of Messiah is made up of Jew and Gentile, worshipping G-d together -- one new man. Separation has cost the church dearly - it plunged us into the dark ages -- don't want to go there again!!!
I would be interested in ANY kind of verses and books on Yeshua and how He fulfills all the feasts and the tabernacle.. and anything on Jerusalem .. basically more of Yeshua.. please email them to me.. thank You beloved of the Lord, your website is indeed a blessing!
Hi Sandy - Happy New Year (Rosh HaShanah) I am sorry I took so long to answer you - we have had a lot of trouble with our computers. We upgraded them to WinXP and nothing else seems to work with it.
Hanukkah and Ramadan are now past for this year, but the Christmas season is upon us. Let's remember the reason for this season: Y'shua (Jesus)became flesh so that he could die for us and provide the way to eternal Life. Our sins are taken care of and we have the freedom and privilege to worship HIM! Praise His Name this season with your heart, your words and your actions! G-d bless you!
Travel News! We are planning to come to the United States sometime in mid February, 2002, and will return to Israel in May, Lord willing. If you would like to schedule me for a speaking engagement; please get in touch with us, as soon as possible. I am making up my itinerary now. We will be in the NY - Pennsylvania area most of the time, and we will be also be in Georgia, so if you live anywhere along the eastern seaboard between NY and FL, write me -- there is a possibility I will be able to come your way!
Hi Friends! Many of you have asked me to send you monthly letters, etc. I have been getting many of my letters returned undelivered for the following reasons:
1. Local servers have placed a block on email originating in the Middle East.
2. Mail boxes are too full.
3. email addresses have been changed and perhaps you forgot to notify me.
Whatever the reason, #2 & #3 are up to you to change. If I have a problem with #1, I will try remailing the letters from my new hotmail address. We will see if that works. If you have not been receiving mail from me, please get in touch. Blessings!
Hi Friends! If you haven't heard from me in a while - it's because our computer has been down. We had to reformat our hard drive due to a stubborn virus. So I am trying to rebuild our email address list. If you want to continue to receive monthly updates from us, send us your address again. Thanks a bunch!
Hope things are going good for you two. Our world will never be the same. Did you know Travis enlisted in the air-force? Bob is still coming in to play chess at Whispers. Our son is coming home for two weeks-haven't seen him in over a year. He made Chief. Take care. Love and prayers. Zane & Nancy
