Go about 3/4 of the way down this post for how Perry addresses the situation Bauge is dealing with.

My summary of Mike Perry's CryoNet post.

No score for this post

1. The relative of a deceased person is in grief. The desire to save the remains is motivated by that grief.

a)Any organization that offers to do "what we can for now" could open itself to charges on preying on the grief stricken.

b)Interest in saving the remains declines to nil after the grief has passed. Any financial arrangement made will thus likely fall through.

2. The brain liquifies shortly after death.

END OF SUMMARY

Wonderful post by Darwin at http://www.cryonet.org/archive/17031

No mention of Bauge, or Australia. Lots of discussion of what happens to brains not frozen, though, and how to determine whether anything a mortician has done is any good.

If I didn't know any better, I'd say that this is Darwin's OPEN response to Bauge on how to proceed-- IF he's going to proceed!!!!

Darwin's not coming right out and associating himself with Bauge though because Bauge's been problematic in ways that makes it "wiser" for Darwin to write in a way that puts the IDEA of how to manage the problem in a "general context". All this is my conjecture, of course.

The fun part of Darwins post is the description of liquid brains that spill out of the skull and "rubbery pink" brains. Terrific-- and actually DOES provide Bauge with a viable "next step"-- contact the mortician to see what was done with the guy for burial. Maybe something DOES remain that's worth saving. This is problematic but at least we're approaching it in an honest way here in this forum.

Now Bauge needs to visit-- he hasn't been around fo 5 days yet he said he'd visit twice a week. What's going on? If he doesn't appear before the end of the month, I'd have to say that that borders on irresponsibility considering the seriousness of what he proposes to go and do on his own-- without interacting more with the rest of the cryonics community-- right HERE in HIS forum!
