King Lifting:
King Lifting are a band formed in the autumn of 2003 based part in Norwich and part in Leeds. A passion for extreme music, coupled with being generally fucked people, led to the creation of King Lifting, a metallic thrashy hardcore outfit, with some twinkly bits thrown in too. The aim of King Lifting is not simply to provide the listener with intense noise-core ...but also to educate, with lyrical insight into events throughout world history slicing between riffage, and jazz/emo fuelled breakdowns.
They've played shows with some ace bands, they're gunna play more.

"This demo finds them confidently standing on their own two feet, with a set of 4 songs that bounce around hectically and rather dis-coordinating manner at times."
"a bizarre conglomeration of sounds, but it works rather interestingly, not dropping into the run of the mill heavier emo-core bracket by any means, and leaving you not totally sure what to expect around the corner, which is refreshing "
"The music all fits together really nicely and they are definitely good at what they are doing. If you are into technical hardcore, and you like screamo too, then you should check them out, as you'll probably be impressed. "
"the guys can all play there instruments very well indeed, there timing is impeccable and there use of rhythm is spectactular. The opening track has a early Glassjaw feel to it, plenty of off-beat melody, then the track really kicks in, hey pummel your ears with such force you feel like an unwanted rocking horse and they are the hammer and chisel. This track also boasts some great double bass footwork, just before kicking into the chorus again, well worthy.
The second track is probally my favourite, it starts with a beautiful jazz/latin feel, really hypnotic, signs of candiria creep in here, but performed and wrote better...but this does not come close the the awesome chorus, you can imagine the hardcore kids screaming along with this for many years to come, the next track reminds me of Botch in there ''we are the romans'' era, but as i said before ''Kinglifting'' have a quite remarkable way of making there music so complex, yet you can bang your head to it so hard, this is a talent that most bands find it hard to grasp. The final track is pure un-diluted ''i hate everyone...and i kick dogs'' type of track, love the way this is so no holds barred, marvellous stuff"
"interesting and certainly not generic of anything"
"So all you need to know is that 'King lifting' shread...thats the bottom line....sure there's the odd influence here and there, like the blood brothers, but this band are a great force and we should all welcome these boys with open arms"
"For Fans of:-
The Blood Brothers
Glassjaw
Drowningman
Botch"
"oddball helium drenched vocals, spasticated back ups and screams, oddball rhythms"
Records are gunna be released through this label: www.bsmrocks.com and possibly also in collaberation with mid march records. next spring and summer.
